On August 11, 2012, Ms. Spillane was in a car accident that left her a paraplegic. After years of physical therapy, she re-enrolled in school at Cerritos Community College. It was there she decided to enroll in the Teacher TRAC program. She graduated from Cerritos on the President’s Honor Role with her AA as well as her AAT. Bailey graduated from CSULB in the Spring of 2019, with her bachelor’s in liberal studies, as well as her multiple subject teaching credential. Bailey conducted her student teaching within the Long Beach Unified School District. Her second semester at CSULB was spent studying abroad in Australia as the first disabled student to do so. Bailey’s car accident inspired her to learn how to drive a car with hand controls and she has even attempted adaptive skiing and surfing. Bailey has two corgis and frequents Disneyland with her boyfriend, Jimmie. She loves the Los Angeles Dodgers, coffee, art, and going to the movies. Bailey has showcased some of her paintings at the Long Beach Museum of Latin American Art, as well as at CSULB. Bailey is a proud part of the STEAM Dream Team here at Grace and cannot wait to meet and share her love of art with students from JK to the eighth grade.
Mary Beth Eroen
Miss Eroen was born and raised on Catalina Island, where she lived until attending Chapman University’s Conservatory of Music. She studied voice, guitar, percussion, and piano, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy. After receiving her board certification (MT-BC), Miss Eroen worked in Special Services, providing Music Therapy for children and adults with Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health Needs, and Autism Spectrum Disorder for 8 years. She has also provided private music instruction, and is currently pursuing a Credential and Masters in Special Education at CSULB. In her spare time, Miss Eroen enjoys serving as a High School Leader and Worship Leader at her church, spending time with her family, being outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending long hours making things by hand that could just as easily be bought in a store, with much less frustration.
Mrs. Erickson graduated from Cal State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2007. Since then she has been a stay-at-home mom, Special Education Aide and substitute teacher here at Grace and through the Ocean View School District. She has been happily married for over 9 years to her husband and together they have two beautiful daughters, Makayla, age 8 and Aubrey, Age 6. In her spare time Mrs. Erickson loves to craft using her Cricut, play fantasy football, conduct science experiments, travel ,and have lots of quality family time. She is so excited to be teaching STEAM along with Ms. Spillane! GO STEAM DREAM TEAM!!
Kaleigh Wadsworth (Señora) has been teaching Spanish since 2016. She received her BA in Spanish and her World Language Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach. Mrs. Wadsworth is married to her high school sweetheart, and they are living happily ever after in Huntington Beach. In her free time, Mrs. Wadsworth loves learning other languages, baking, visiting Disneyland, collecting shells at the beach, reading, eating, and traveling.
Len Montgomery is a graduate of Biola University (Bachelor of Music, Trumpet Performance & Music Education) and California State University, Long Beach (Master of Music, Conducting). While at CSULB, Len received awards for conducting and for Best Thesis for the School of Fine Arts. He has served at Azusa Pacific University as Assistant Director of the Cougar Marching Band and as an adjunct faculty member in Music Education. Under his direction, the BCHS bands have won numerous festivals and awards, including 1st place awards at the Biola University Band Festival, the Fullerton Jazz Festival, and the Reno Jazz Festival, where the band won a command performance in its first year of entry. In 2003, the BCHS "Eight O' Clock Jazz Band" finished in the top three at the Monterey Jazz Festival, earning an "artist" performance spot at the Monterey Jazz Festival the following year. Mr. Montgomery has served on the boards of the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) and the International Association for Jazz Education, and has conducted the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Honor Marching Band, Junior High Honor Band, and Elementary Honor Band. He is also a private instructor & professional freelance trumpet player in the southern California region. Len and his wife Mishal have three boys and live in Westminster.
